Are you curious to know what topics will be discussed at Arable Futures? The event is designed to create a safe non-judgmental space to share insights, challenges and aspirations around the Scottish arable farming sector and to ask what actions are required to make the industry more resilient.
The day will be facilitated and moderated with roving mics to ensure everyone can take part in the discussion and make their voice heard, so we’re hoping for interesting, challenging queries, suggestions and observations
The conference will conclude with a discussion, facilitated by Rob Yorke, Environmental/rural Commentator, on issues emerging through the day. This will involve a ‘reverse panel’ of early career and established professionals in the arable sector posing questions to the audience in seeking to answer the question ‘What skills and knowledge are necessary to capitalise on emerging opportunities to strengthen the resilience of the Scottish arable sector?’
To whet your appetite, here are some of the questions that have been sent to us in advance.
· How can we have more certainty on what the future holds, and what can we do about this?
· Where will the profitability come from in the arable sector?
· What are the new ideas and alternatives?
· How do we incorporate livestock into the arable systems?
